Great tent, August 6, 2011 By Jeff (Maryland) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Kelty Grand Mesa 6 (old-style) 3-Season Camping Tent (Misc.) I took this out for the first time this past week. The first night we got poured on, not a drop of water got in the tent. Some pretty impressive thunderstorms came through. I was a bit concerned about it being a 2 pole dome of this size (2 pole designs can be a bit weak in bad weather for a larger tent) but the thick DAC aluminum poles held up very well. Its weather resistance is quite impressive.
It is a large tent (10'10"x9'2", 5'10" tall) yet it was extremely easy to put up alone (for me it was no harder than my smaller tents). It is a standard dome, so the slope of the walls does take away some of the usable space- the space against the walls is really only good for storage of smaller to medium sized items, if that's a problem most domes will be a problem and you really need a cabin tent. I went with one other person with twin bed sized air mattresses. We had a ton of room for us, a fan, and other stuff. With good sized air mattresses 3 could be comfortable with... Read more
